FDA reported about leaking water and uncontrolled temperature at NECC

It is widely discussed about the meningitis outbreak that has happened in certain states of America. Contaminated Methylprednisolone Acetate injections resulted in fungal meningitis in more than 500 persons. The contamination turned out to be fatal for 39 individuals: they died. The majority of deaths took place in Tennessee.
It was defined that contaminated steroid injections had been produced by the New England Compounding Center (NECC) which is based in Massachusetts. The FDA tested the pharmacy in order to determine what caused contamination and see the situation at the NECC. It was affirmed by the FDA that the contaminated steroid injections were indeed manufactured by this company.
According to the Associated Press, the FDA reported that it was evident that manufacture of medications was unsterile at the NECC. The FDA said that leaking water and uncontrolled temperature were only several problems at the compounding center. The equipment used for manufacture of solution for injections was unsterile.
Furthermore, the FDA stated that there were some other contaminants. Several bacterial contaminants were discovered at the compounding center. Although these contaminants were not real pathogens, they were capable to cause infection as well. These bacterial contaminants were found in such preparations, as Betamethasone and Triamcinolone. There were not any cases reported about contamination resulted from administration of these drugs. But it was noticed that these medicines could also produce contamination. However the bacterial contaminants were anywhere in the environment, they had not to be in medicines. This fact pointed at unsterile conditions at the compounding center and affirmed that the Methylprednisolone Acetate injections turned out to be contaminated with fungal meningitis because they were produced in improper conditions.
The situation made it clear that new laws on pharmacies should be implemented. Contamination should be avoided. Otherwise, health of Americans is in danger.
