Center of large doping ring busted in Norway was located in Trondheim

Norwegian law enforcement officers have busted a huge doping ring. Over 10 individuals related to illicit actions were arrested. Six persons were sentenced to jail.
According to news of the newspaper Dagens N?ringsliv (DN), the doping ring was established in Trondheim. DN provided own investigation connected with illegal sale of anabolic steroids in Norway. Police officers investigated the case.
It is suggested that a secret center is in Trondheim. It administrates illicit sale of doping products and money laundering.
The arrested persons were linked with bodybuilding, fitness and health industries in Norway. Certain persons were arrested at their homes; others – in business offices, parking lots and tram stops.
Police officers suppose that certain individuals are masked by the names of Guru and Karma.
Robert Eilertsen is included in those who have been arrested. He is an operator and editor of a fitness blog. This person coached well-known athletes within football, boxing, handball, etc.
It is believed that Eilertsen and some other persons have provided dangerous performance-enhancing drugs to Norwegian youth during numerous years.
About 60 police officers were involved in raids. The raids resulted in 11 arrests.
Since the investigation is not finished yet, police officers report nothing about their further actions.
Norwegian customs officers and tax authorities assisted the investigation.
Numerous computers and certain documents were seized during raids of homes, business officers, cars, etc.
Eilertsen and Gunnar Strand Jacobsen, another arrested man, have denied their connections with doping products. Jacobsen is the owner of Kaliber Gym in Trondheim, one of the most prominent gyms in Norway. Jacobsen was personal trainer of sportspersons that acquired prizes. He coached athletes that attended to different sports. Jacobsen is considered to be a high-qualified nutrition expert.
The raid was called “Operation Gilde”.
Eilertsen and Jacobsen are charged with sale of doping medicines and money laundering.

Spain’s law enforcement officers confiscated huge amounts of sex stimulants and steroids

Spain’s police officers arrested Scott Boote, a man, who was involved in illegal operations connected with a multinational drug ring producing stimulants which increase libido. Huge quantities of medicines were confiscated by police officials. It was estimated the street value of these products. It was claimed that it was almost ?3 million. A Briton, a 72-year-old man from Liverpool, was also questioned. According to reports of police officers, these two persons produced 8 new sexual stimulants and offered them for sale via internet without medical controls. Six other persons were also questioned during this investigation. Investigators confirmed that the persons who were implicated in this illicit drug ring purchased vehicles and another property due to distribution of illicit sexual products. Several bank accounts were blocked by police. More than 100,000 dosages of anabolic steroids, properties and cars were seized.
A spokesperson for Spanish police affirmed that all members of the drug ring lived very luxuriously. They possess numerous properties and luxury cars. They purchased properties abroad in order to hide the shaded business. Investigators determined that the ring offered for sale sex enhancement drugs for both males and females. The medicines were advertised on internet. Persons from around the world could buy the products. So, people from the USA, the UK, Thailand, Malaysia, etc. were customers that obtained medicines from this ring. Three factories functioned in Costa del Sol. Investigators believe that those that were producing the preparations didn’t possess proper knowledge for this purpose. According to them, the individuals who were involved in the drug ring created also legal business in order to hide the illegal one. They put efforts to give legitimate appearance to illicit operations. Their profits were masked by other legal commercial companies.
Police officers also found boxes that had to be sent to customers. Anabolic steroids were also included in the drugs seized by law enforcement officers. The arrested persons also possessed packages, labels and leaflets.

British drivers demonize steroids for aggressiveness during driving

Although it is not yet manifested scientifically whether uncontrolled aggressiveness is a side effect of steroids, these products are demonized for certain crimes quite often.
Michael Barton, a person from Britain, hit a Ford Fiesta, while he was driving his Volkswagen Golf. Paul Gard was driving the Ford Fiesta. Barton had overtaken Paul Gard. But then he had to pull back in front of Paul Gard, since another car was driving the other way. Paul Gard flashed him. So, he had to brake suddenly. Barton became furious, stopped his Volkswagen Golf, broke the wing mirror of Gard’s Ford Fiesta and hit the man in the face. Then Gard’s wife called police. While she was calling, Barton left calmly.
Michael Barton, a 21-year-old person who has a son of two years old, takes steroids for bulking effects. Thus, it has been claimed that these medicines affected his behavior. The defense attorney for this young person claimed that steroids influenced on temperament of his client, since these preparations enhanced his levels of testosterone.
Earlier Barton was convicted for several crimes, including domestic violence. Last year this young person pleaded guilty to an assault, criminal damage and driving incautiously because of his anger following assaults.
The judge Patrick Hooton affirmed that he was not sure that steroids were responsible for the case. But he noticed that it was totally mad to become infuriated and hit a man in the face just because he flashed him. The judge noticed that Barton’s behavior was very shameful and he announced: “you ought to go to prison”.
Thus, this young man was given 6-month jail sentence suspended for a year; he was also sentenced to pay 500 dollars in compensation and ?277 for damage of the car.

New sophisticated ways of cheating in steroid use

Athletes become more and more sophisticated in intake of steroids. They find out new ways to mask their intake of prohibited preparations. Several sportspersons take time to study experts’ statements that may help them to hide that they dope. Nowadays a method has been discovered: sportspeople may mask usage of testosterone with the help of green tea.
Testosterone represents a hormone that is secreted in body naturally. So, it can be difficult for anti-doping agencies to determine that an athlete has taken testosterone. T: E ratio testing is commonly used by anti-doping agencies. Such tests may demonstrate unusual ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone in urine. But it doesn’t have ability to display difference between testosterone which has been secreted in body naturally and that introduced into body with the help of injections, gels, etc.
Declan Naughton and his colleagues at Kingston University ( London) have determined that green tea contains such substances which are called “catechins”. They have ability to inhibit the enzyme UGT2B17. This enzyme induces joining glucuronic acid to testosterone. If UGT2B17 is inhibited, less testosterone glucoronide is excreted in urine.
Catechins, the compounds which may mask application of testosterone, are in green and white tea. Black tea doesn’t have such substances.
Naughton and his colleagues have conducted several experiments. They conclude that a cup of strong green tea mask application of testosterone.
Thus, those sportspersons that administer testosterone can decrease amounts of testosterone which are excreted in urine by drinking of green or white tea. Green or white tea is able to block excretion of testosterone, increasing circulating levels of this hormone.
The World Anti-Doping Agency was informed about the discovering by the scientists. If this process occurs, it means that it is not worthy to subject athletes to urine tests. Blood tests should be performed for detection of testosterone use.
Olivier Rabin, the WADA’s specialist, claims that regular checks of blood steroids will be added. Everything will be done by anti-doping organizations in order to avoid fooling of urine tests.

Packages that were sent to Wim Vansevenant and intercepted by customs officials didn’t contain doping products

The case against Wim Vansevenant, a former Belgian rider, changed surprisingly. An analysis manifested that the doping preparations which were ordered by him didn’t contain the contents written on the labels. He was cheated by the company where he ordered the preparations.
Last year some packages sent to this former professional rider by an Australian company were intercepted by customs officials. According to the labels of  the intercepted  bottles,  they contained the doping preparation TB-500. It is a peptide hormone which is capable to induce increasing muscle power and promote healing. The Belgian authorities started an investigation. It was thought that Wim Vansevenant supplied the Omega Pharma-Lotto team with doping medications. This person rode professionally 10 years, from 1998 to 2008. Last 6 years of the career he was working with this team.
An analysis of the bottles seized by customs showed that only amino acids were contained. Wim Vansevenant’s lawyer claimed that the charges had to be dropped. He pointed out that since the drug was not connected with doping, the former athlete didn’t deserve to be punished.
The prosecutor’s spokesperson Johan Lescrauwaet affirmed that the contents didn’t correspond to the name of the product that was indicated on the label and to the affirmations of the former athlete.
Only amino acids were found in the bottles. No any doping medication. Thus, there is no any evidence that Wim Vansevenant provided doping medications to other individuals.
The hearing of former professional athlete was scheduled to be later.

Bruce Goldberger doesn’t support government in case against Roger Clemens

Testimonies of the celebrated toxicologist Bruce Goldberger will probably impact greatly on decision of the court in the case connected with Roger Clemens. Bruce Goldberger is the Professor of Pathology and Director of Toxicology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. This specialist didn’t testify on behalf of the government. However he was called in order to replace Don Catlin, the director of the WADA UCLA Medicine, Goldberger’s testimonies differed from those that are commonly provided by anti-doping agencies. He testified on behalf of the accused sportsman.
Bruce Goldberger has gained his celebrity due to his appearing on different news programs. Even during such programs he doesn’t refrain from criticism. He criticized some anti-doping agencies, including the WADA.
The toxicologist criticized federal prosecutors in the case related to Roger Clemens. They based on “beer can evidence” provided by Brian McNamee to support that his client used steroids and HGH. Brian McNamee, the former personal coach of Roger Clemens, provided a beer can containing used needles and syringes that had traces of such steroids, as Sustanon, Primobolan Depot and Deca Durabolin and were mixed allegedly with Clemens’ blood. The beer can was stored by McNamee more than 6 years. The toxicologist noted that such basis was not reasonable.
Bruce Goldberger claimed that it was impossible to base on “beer can evidence”. He noted that no one could prove that Roger Clemens used steroids and HGH, basing on the beer can, because the theory of contamination could present.
So, the toxicologist Bruce Goldberger didn’t support the evidence used by the feds. Earlier the toxicologist also expressed criticism connected with evidence applied by several anti-doping organizations.
Certain years ago the toxicologist Bruce Goldberger testified on behalf of the American cyclist Floyd Landis, when this sportsman appealed positives for steroids. A WADA-accredited lab located in France discovered traces of exogenous testosterone; T: E ratio and carbon isotope ratio tests were applied by the lab. Goldberger pronounced similar words and criticism during the appeal linked with Floyd Landis.
Bruce Goldberger confirmed during an interview that the WADA utilized inadequate methods and violated rights of athletes in order to achieve the success in anti-doping programs.
As for Floyd Landis, he didn’t have success in his appeal and admitted that he had used steroids, EPO and some other related products.
Nobody knows which results will be reached by Roger Clemens. Will the federal prosecutors prove that he has lied before the Congress? Will he admit to taking prohibited drugs? Or will be the results contrary?

There was no any difference in physical appearance of Roger Clemens before, during and after working with Brian McNamee

It is known by each baseball fan that Roger Clemens is charged with obstruction of justice. It is said that he has lied before Congress about intake of steroids and HGH.
The attorney Rusty Hardin claimed that there was no any difference in physical appearance of Roger Clemens before, during and after his working with the trainer Brian McNamee. The attorney affirmed that this factor was a proof that Roger Clemens hadn’t administered steroids and other related products.
Changing in muscle size is commonly utilized by prosecutors as proof that a person uses steroids or/and other related products. But this tendency was not used during the governmental case against Roger Clemens. No one could claim that Roger Clemens’ muscles demonstrated that he had taken steroids and HGH. It is one of differences between the case against Roger Clemens and that against Barry Bonds.
As for the governmental case against Barry Bonds, federal prosecutors called numerous individuals in the trial who could testify that anabolic steroids led to evidential changes in physique of this sportsperson. They affirmed that usage of steroids caused enhancement of muscle size, increased size of the head and testicular shrinkage in Barry Bonds.
So, the defense attorney Rusty Hardin provided four pictures of Roger Clemens. The photos were made four different times during the baseball career of Roger Clemens, including the period of time when Clemens was working with the coach Brain McNamee. Hardin noted that the pictures manifested that there was no difference in physical changes that could manifest that he took steroids and HGH.
The attorney Rusty Hardin noticed that the photos manifested only the process of ageing. The masseur Cheryl Redfern also confirmed that she didn’t observe any changes in physique of Roger Clemens. Roger Clemens experienced neither back acne, nor gynecomastia, nor essentially enhanced muscle mass.
Phil Garner, a former baseball player, also affirmed that there were not any essential changes in physical appearance and performance of Roger Clemens during working with the coach Brian McNamee.
Steve Durham, the Assistant US Attorney tried to discredit the argument about lack of changes in Roger Clemens’ physical appearance during the cross-examination of the former baseball player Phil Garner. He noted that while some steroids increased muscle size, others didn’t promote getting muscles. So, he affirmed that the photos could display nothing about steroid use.
Feds want to take advantages in both cases: in the case against Roger Clemens and in that against Barry Bonds. While they affirm that changes in physical appearance of Barry Bonds display that he has taken steroids, lack of changes in physical appearance of Roger Clemens doesn’t prove that he hasn’t administered steroids.

Anders Breivik used steroids, while he was preparing for massacre

Anders Behring Breivik was charged with murder of 70 persons. He bombed buildings of government in Oslo (Norway). Certain teenagers of the Workers’ Youth League camp were also murdered by this criminal on Utoya island in July 2011.
The killer trained for the massacre substantially. He admitted that he had utilized cycles with steroids.  Since he utilized steroids, these products were demonized for the deadly actions by numerous journalists.
But what did specialists confirm? Joerge Moerland, a professor of forensic toxicology at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, contested statements of these reporters. Dr. Joerge Moerland confirmed that anabolic steroids were not responsible for the crimes committed by this person. But the forensic toxicologist acknowledged that he couldn’t contest that these medicines could cause aggressiveness in the criminal.
An “ECA stack”, a combination of caffeine, aspirin and ephedrine, was also administered by the killer. In fact, this stack is commonly applied by bodybuilders in order to burn fat and stimulate themselves for trainings. It was defined that Anders Breivik has used great quantity of the combination. The amount administered by him was by 50 % more enhanced than it is allowed under European Union’s rules.
The expert Moerland affirmed that the killer’s behavior was more significantly influenced by the “ECA stack” than steroids. He explained that ephedrine might lead to desire to be involved in dangerous activities. Joerge Moerland noted that the killer’s central nervous system had been affected by ephedrine.
Nonetheless, the expert Moerland noted about limitation of the ECA’ influence. The quantity of caffeine consumed by Breivik was equal to approximately 5 cups of coffee. Thus, the quantity was not enough high in order to be blamed for the crimes.
Breivik described his intake of steroids and dietary supplements in details. He also recommended other individuals getting steroids at Alinshop.
The murderer noted that he didn’t like Dianabol because it could cause bloating. He noticed that Dianabol could add more body weight than one could carry. According to his affirmations, circa 50 % of the mass gained because of this drug is fluid retention. The killer decided to apply some combinations that were appropriate for his needs.
Anders Breivik learnt about advantages and disadvantages of various steroids in order to choose those who were proper for his purposes. He claimed that Testosterone Propionate had certain superiorities over Dianabol. He also suggested that combinations of Dianabol with Aromasin or administration of Dianabol followed by intake of Winstrol could benefit obviously.
Thus, the murderer prepared for the massacre scrupulously. He spent time in order to study effects of steroids and plan steroid cycles and intake of dietary supplements. He also thought over every detail connected with attacks and murders.
However several individuals claimed that Breivik was legally insane, it’s wrong. It is obvious that the crimes have been committed consciously.

Steroids are often seized from motorcycle gangs

The newspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald” reports that illicit administration of steroids has become widespread in Australia due to outlaw motorcycle gangs. The gangs have essential profit and reduced risks.
Nick Bingham, a detective, has noticed that New South Wales Police doesn’t focus on investigation connected with usage of steroids but anabolic steroids become targets of investigations, when police officers arrest motorcycle gangs for violation of other laws.
According to the detective Nick Bingham, although New South Wales police officials don’t raid houses of gangs for steroids, they find them, when they conduct searches for weapons and psychostimulant drugs.
Nick Bingham has reported that they usually seize such amounts of steroids from motorcycle gangs which are only for self-administration. Amounts of other drugs that are usually found in possession of gangs are much greater than those of steroids.
Nick Bingham has noticed that criminals prefer using anabolic steroids in order to build threatening muscular bodies. They want to look big and strong.
However Bingham is sure that gangs have steroids only for personal use, the newspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald” presents opposite point of view. It is reported that motorcycle gangs are implicated in smuggling of steroids.
Although gyms are claimed to be the most important sources of steroids for bodybuilders, it is reported by “The Sydney Morning Herald” that several gyms have close connections with motorcycle gangs. The Herald confirms that numerous seizures made by the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service are linked directly with distribution of steroids by motorcycle gangs.
According to statements of Australian Customs, mail seizures of steroids have been enhanced greatly in comparison with past years.
More than 2, 000 seizures were made in 2009-2010 and over 5, 000 seizures of steroids were recorded in 2010-2011.
The majority of seizures were connected with self-administration of steroids smuggled by bodybuilders.

Federal prosecutors asked judge Walton to permit David Segui to testify against Roger Clemens

Federal prosecutors want the judge Reggie Walton to permit the former first baseman of the Major League Baseball David Segui to present testimony in the trial linked with the case of Roger Clemens. This person had a conversation with Brian McNamee, the former trainer of Roger Clemens. It is confirmed that they have discussed about steroid use by the former celebrated baseball player.
The former personal trainer of Roger Clemens was called to testify against his client because he turned out to be the only person who had direct knowledge about administration of steroids and other related medications by Roger Clemens. Furthermore, he stored a beer can with vials, syringes and needles that were allegedly mixed with Roger Clemens’ blood. DNA analysis was conducted in order to determine whether it was Clemens’ blood.
Rusty Hardin, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, claimed that the steroid evidence was thought up by Brian McNamee after the questioning by federal prosecutors.
But prosecutors claimed that David Segui told them that Brian McNamee said that he saved several things as evidence of steroid use by several players in 2001. It was certain years before the former trainer of Roger Clemens became the target of the investigation.
Information presented by David Segui to federal prosecutors differed essentially from that provided to the sportswriter Jim Baumbach. His words provided to Jim Baumbach were published in an article in 2008. According to that piece of news, David Segui claimed that he had never discussed about steroids with his friend Brian McNamee.
David Segui learnt about implication of Brian McNamee into the trial of Roger Clemens just in 2006, when he read an article in the Los Angeles Times.
Segui discussed openly about personal administration of steroids and other related medications. He said that players of the Major League Baseball asked him many times whether he had utilized steroids. This person acknowledged that he had utilized them. But Segui claimed that he had never spoken about usage of steroids with Brian McNamee.
David Segui supported the decision of McNamee to keep evidence about usage of prohibited products by his clients. According to David Segui, it is a correct decision because sometimes innocent guys are blamed but guilty guys are covered. So, he could help to disclose the truth.
However federal prosecutors asked the judge Walton to permit Segui to provide testimony in the trial connected with Roger Clemens, the judge didn’t announce his decision yet.

Financial position of certain promotional companies suffers due to cancelations of fights

The Haitian-American professional boxer Andre Berto tested positive for Nandrolone. This athlete was tested by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA).
Andre Berto was scheduled to fight against Victor Ortiz on June 23, 2012 in Los Angeles. Andre Berto agreed to submit to random drug testing before the match. Both “A” and “B” urine samples indicated about usage of the anabolic steroid Nandrolone.
It was already the second time this month, when the VADA tested fighters and caught them utilizing steroids. The first of them was the boxer Lamont Peterson. He had to fight against Amir Khan. It seems to be strange that Peterson requested random blood and urine testing. A carbon isotope ratio test conducted by the VADA manifested that testosterone of exogenous origin was in this fighter’s system certain weeks before the match.
The tests conducted by the VADA impacted on financial position of certain companies obviously. For example, Golden Boy Promotions lost essential potential profit due to Lamont Peterson’s positives. It was determined by the CEO of the company Richard Schaeffer that the company lost 250, 000 dollars.
The cancelation of the fight between Andre Berto and Victor Ortiz will probably not cost so much because Andre Berto will be possibly replaced by another boxer who will meet Ortiz.
As for the fighter Andre Berto, he didn’t explain what had caused his positives. He hired the attorney Howard Jacobs that would represent and defeat him.
Andre Berto confirmed that he had never taken steroids. Thus, he claimed that he investigated with his attorney what could lead to positives for steroids. The boxer Andre Berto concluded that he had never cheated; he succeeded in sport due to hard work and dedication.
The attorney Howard Jacobs represented numerous other sportspersons who turned out to be victims of fake food supplements.
It is confirmed that since the steroid Nandrolone has very long half life and it is detected easily, it is not widespread among doping sportspersons. But it has been manifested numerous times that certain dietary supplements contained the ingredient nandrolone that caused positives for steroids. But since sometimes not each ingredient is written on the label, sportspeople become victims of contaminated sport supplements.

Fighter Chael Sonnen uses Testosterone Enanthate and Testosterone Cypionate

The American mixed martial artist Chael Sonnen is allowed to apply anabolic steroids. The physician Timothy Trainor claimed that this mixed martial artist actually had hypogonadism.
What does this disease represent? Hypogonadism is connected with insufficient secretion of testosterone. Health care providers commonly prescribe hormone replacement therapy in order to cure this condition.
The fighter Chael Sonnen has gotten a therapeutic use exemption (TUE). Thus, this athlete is allowed to administer steroids for therapeutic needs and fight against Anderson Silva at UFC 148 in July 2012.
According to indications given by Sonnen’s physician, he should be injected with Testosterone Enanthate and Testosterone Cypionate twice a week. The quantities which are recommended have not been revealed. But under rules of the Nevada Athletic Commission, blood serum levels of testosterone in this fighter must remain within normal range on the morning after the match with Silva.
According to the doctor Trainor, those who compete with TUE should be tested on the morning after the match to define whether they have utilized something right before the fight.
The physician Trainor thinks that testosterone is able to produce performance-enhancing effects, if it is used right before the fight. He claims that injections must not be applied in the days before a match in order to prevent increased levels of testosterone.
But it seems that the NAC is not aware that steroids produce benefits linked with increase of performance, not only if they are used right before competitions. Administration of steroids increases performance during workouts before competitions. And the results remain even after consumers discontinue using them.
Chael Sonnen had enhanced levels of testosterone at UFC 117. He argued that he had tested positive because he had been on TRT.  He appealed his suspension and it was reduced to 6 months from one year. But Chael Sonnen didn’t have any TUE that time.

Galabin Boevski was sentenced to imprisonment because he smuggled narcotics

The world champion in weightlifting Galabin Boevski was sentenced to nine months in jail due to illicit international drug trade. This sportsman was arrested in October 2011 at the Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil after he tried to board the plane with eight kg of cocaine. This athlete was led to Bulgaria. Cocaine was estimated. It could be sold at the price of 500, 000 dollars on the streets in countries of Europe.
Boevski is a famous sportsman in Bulgaria. He is claimed to be one of the most celebrated weightlifters in this country.
First he was caught administering steroids in 1995. Of course, he was sentenced to suspension.
Then this sportsperson was caught using prohibited drugs in 2004. It was the second time when he violated doping laws. Actually, Boevski didn’t test positive for any forbidden products. But anti-doping officials defined that he didn’t provide own urine. The urine which was provided by this sportsperson belonged to another person. As a result, Boevski was sentenced to 8-year suspension. During serving the suspension he was caught trafficking cocaine.
Galabin Boevski became well-known due to his achievements in weightlifting. This sportsperson won gold medals at several competitions: at the 1999 World Weightlifting Championships in Athens, the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and the 2001 World Weightlifting Championships in Antalya.
At the 2003 World Championships in Vancouver this athlete and his teammates from Bulgaria provided urine samples which belonged to another person. It was defined by anti-doping officials that the 3 urine samples were produced by one person. These sportsmen received suspensions. Boevski appealed the suspension but it was unsuccessful.
Galabin Boevski broke some world records at different competitions. He held 3 world records. The best lifts of this sportsman were following: a 162, 5 kg snatch, 196, 5 kg clean and jerk and a 357, 5 kg of two lifts at the 1999 Championships.
It is strange but this weightlifter’s reputation wasn’t spoiled in Bulgaria. He used his status of celebrity in sports in order to establish a Technogym fitness center in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. The center was named Atama Wellness and Spa.
Furthermore, the Brazilian judge Maria Isabel do Prado noticed that Boevski used also his status of celebrity in sports in order to traffic cocaine. She also noted that this weightlifter used the participation of his daughter in a Brazilian tennis tournament in order to hide his illegal deals connected with trafficking of the narcotic.
The weightlifter Galabin Boevski confirmed that he would appeal the conviction.

Shocking testimony of Andy Pettitte at court connected with Roger Clemens’ case

The desire of the federal government connected with the case of Roger Clemens was following: they wanted to prove that this sportsman had lied before the Congress about administration of anabolic steroids and HGH. But the government couldn’t achieve this goal. It was expected that Andy Pettitte would say that Roger Clemens had told him that he had taken the prohibited products during a conversation in 1999 or in 2000. But the statement of Andy Pettitte was shocking for prosecutors. He claimed that he couldn’t confirm that Roger Clemens had used steroids and HGH because he was not sure.
Actually, did the testimony of Andy Pettittte shock the prosecutors of Roger Clemens? This man swore for the 2008 Congressional hearings on administration of steroids in the Major League Baseball that Roger Clemens acknowledged that he had taken HGH. But he pronounced opposite statements at the Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse in Washington.
Michael Attanasio, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, asked Andy Pettitte whether he may say that he is 50-50 that he has understood wrongly Roger Clemens about HGH. Pettitte answered that he is really 50-50 about this aspect.
When the prosecutors heard Pettitte’s answer, they became confused. They claimed that Pettitte never answered this way, when he was asked certain times.
The judge Reggie Walton noticed that he understood that Andy Pettitte’s answer has been conflicted. Actually, his testimony was following: “I don’t know”.
The attorneys for Roger Clemens utilized the moment of the prosecutors’ confusion. They asked the judge to brush aside Andy Pettitte’s testimony because he was 50-50. According to the attorneys, he probably misunderstood Roger Clemens or he forgot the details of the conversation.
The government has noted that the jury still allows taking in consideration the affirmation of Andy Pettitte. ASUSA Dunham has confirmed that under federal rules jury is allowed to choose which testimony to believe. This person hopes that the jury will brush aside the testimony that doesn’t support the government.
So, the testimony presented by Andy Pettitte and his wife led to problems. Testimonies of his wife during the first trial led to the declaration of a mistrial by the judge Walton.
Pettitte claims that he is a friend of Roger Clemens. Clemens must also confirm that they are friends after the last testimony of Andy Pettitte.

Five police officers were shot during drug investigation

Law enforcement officials raided Cullen Mutrie’s house for a steroid investigation. This person shot 5 police officers at his home. As a result, the Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney was killed; other four police officers were seriously injured. The next morning this killer and a woman were found dead.
It is suggested that Mutrie was taking anabolic steroids at the time of the shootout. Jane Young, the New Hampshire Associate Attorney General, noticed that toxicology reports were waiting in order to learn whether metabolites of steroids were in the body of this killer.
Police claimed that Cullen Mutrie had had very muscular appearance. This person worked at Genetix Fitness in Seabrook. It was described that he was 6 feet 3 inches tall. He weighed 275 pounds. During a raid that took place in July 2010 police officials discovered anabolic steroids at his home. The police official Wayne Young saw them in a coffee table. He said that he had noticed a plastic bag with some vials. One vial was with powder; others contained solution. According to the labels, they were steroids.
The vials were analyzed by the New Hampshire State Crime Lab. It was defined that the vials contained such preparations, as Trenbolone Acetate, Sustanon 250, Boldenone Undecylenate and Nandrolone Decanoate.
John Miller, a professor of kinesiology, was asked whether a link between the criminal actions and “roid rage” of anabolic steroids could present. The specialist confirmed that it was plausible. But according to him, it is impossible to confirm that there was a direct link between administration of anabolic steroids and the shootout.
John Miller supposed that steroids that were on the black market were provided from legal pharmaceutical companies. But he has been mistaken because the majority of steroids that are offered for sales on the black market are manufactured in underground labs. It is even suspected that Cullen Mutrie manufactured steroids.
Since a link between crimes and steroid use is a controversial issue, not only police officers but also correspondents investigate the case linked with the cop-killer.

Testimonies of Dr. Molina worked against Alistar Overeem

Alistar Overeem, a UFC fighter, appealed his suspension which was received by him for usage of anabolic steroids in April 2012. But he couldn’t win his appeal against members of NSAC. This fighter forfeited his license for nine months. Then Alistar Overeem can come back.
Alistar Overeem acknowledged that he had applied injectable testosterone that was advised him by his health care provider. Alistar Overeem used the strategy which was considered to be boring. He noted that he had never administered anabolic steroids or other related preparations intentionally. He tried to make the NSAC believe that his injectable application of steroids was accidental.
David Chenoff, the defense attorney for Alistar Overeem, is experienced in defending prominent sportspersons.
The defense attorney called the personal health care provider of his client to testify during the appeal. It was suggested that Dr. Molina would testify in defense for this fighter. Testimonies of this physician were quite pitiable. The physician Molina presented an explanation for prescriptions of certain preparations that resulted in Overeem’s enhanced testosterone: epitestosterone ratio.
The treating physician of Alistar Overeem admitted that he recommended and injected this athlete with a mixture of Toradol and Dexamethasone because he suffered from an injury. In fact, these medications are administered for anti-inflammatory purposes. But application of testosterone in case of injuries is not approved by the FDA.
It is believed that the physician Molina hasn’t informed this sportsman that these preparations contain the anabolic steroid testosterone. But it is evidentially that he has never asked about it.
Thus, testimonies of Dr. Molina turned out to manifest lack of the evidence related to clinical needs for usage of banned products by Alistar Overeem. The health care provider couldn’t present any reasonable explanation which could justify prescribing of Toradol and Dexamethasone to this sportsman. Testimonies of the doctor Molina worked against Alistar Overeem.
Actually, it was felt that Alistar Overeem was a victim of the health care provider’s quack.
But it is possible to suppose that this strategy was designed by the defense attorney for this sportsman.
Pat Lundval, a commissioner, was probably impressed by the defense of Alistar Overeem. She even called him a “smart guy”.
The members of the NSAC seemed to be convinced that Overeem has been actually a great guy but he has surrounded himself with such questionable individuals, as Dr. Moline. They recommended him to look for more qualified professionals in the future.
