Sports stars are responsible for promotion of steroid use among American youth

American youth adore their sports stars. They have already numerous such idols from the days of the baseball players Babe Ruth and Shoeless Joe Jackson till the stars of today: the football player Peyton Manning and the baseball player Derek Jeter. Fans observe and repeat their each move.
Is it safe to idolize sports stars of nowadays? It may be risky. Today sports heroes get millions of dollars because of steroid use. Although the NFL and the MLB fight against usage of controlled substances, the war seems to lack success. Administration of steroids like cancer destroys sports. Although American youth are educated about dangerous side effects of these medicines, the results are not satisfactory.
It is said that youth are suppressed to take steroids. They put efforts to meet the required criteria of college admission; they adore current professional sportspersons. The all these factors promote using steroids.
Of course, all parents desire their children to have success. If children go info sports, their parents desire them to compete successfully and to continue to play professionally. Children realize that it is difficult to do it. Which are the consequences? The pressure influences greatly on American youth.  Over 10 % of teenagers feel that they need to lie in order to have success. College admission levels have dropped because of budget cuts. Prolonged administration of steroids may lead to addiction to these medications.  Moreover, consumers of steroids can experience such side consequences, as liver diseases, cancer, hypertension, icterus, kidney disorders and bad cholesterol. These negative reactions are considered to be serious; they may be life-threatening.
Of course, parents don’t want to see their children ill. They want their children to reach goals because devotion to sports and intensive workouts. But it is difficult to do it because many others cheat, taking steroids. Now it is time to do everything to push out steroids. These medications shouldn’t disturb to reach our goals.
