Many persons blame the Pittsburgh Steelers for the steroid revolution in football mistakenly

When it is proclaimed that the Pittsburgh Steelers intend to play, sportswriters seem to be responsible to write about their connections with steroids. They try to create a steroid scandal and to find any probable connections of this team with it.
Mike Fish of ESPN showed the same attitude, when the Steelers competed in the 2009 Super Bowl.  This reporter turned to have luck in writing news connected with the Pittsburgh Steelers and steroids.
Although reporters are not always lucky, when it comes to connections of a team or an athlete with performance-enhancing drugs before a competition, the situation is altered, if it is said about the Steelers. Sportswriters like writing about their history, about the lesson linked with anabolic steroids that took place in 1970s.
David Fleming wrote about historical lessons of this team before a game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers. This sportswriter reported about time, when the NFL hadn’t yet forbidden use of steroids. Thus, according to some sources, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ players used steroids in the late 1970s. It is noticed in the 1991 book “False Glory: The Steve Courson Story” that over 70 % of the offensive linemen of the Pittsburgh Steelers  took steroids.
It must have been true but you must understand that intake of steroids wasn’t prohibited. Why are the Pittsburgh Steelers condemned, if application of steroids was allowed?
Jim Haslett told the New Orleans Saints that the Pittsburgh Steelers had won a lot if times in 1970s and in 1980s due to steroids. According to this trainer, the football players of the team became much stronger due to intake of steroids.
But it is necessary to be cautious here. The Pittsburgh Steelers were not the first football team that used steroids and other products that cause performance-enhancing effects. There were other professional football teams that administrated steroids even in well-organized manner.
Matt Chaneygives the better explanation related to steroid use by football players. He noticed in his book “The Spiral of Denial: Muscle Doping in American football” that the Steelers hadn’t to be demonized for the steroid revolution in football. There was another team which was responsible for this aspect. The San Diego Charges applied steroids before the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1960s.  
Although the Steelers administrated steroids in 1970s, it is impossible to claim that they won due to steroids. There were also players of other teams that took these medications as well. Nevertheless, the Pittsburgh Steelers were successful!
